Heartstart training teaches you what to do in a life threatening emergency.

There are around 60,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK every year. When someone goes into cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 10 per cent.

Get involved with Heartstart

There are hundreds of Heartstart schemes all across the UK, all run independently by people just like you. 

1. I want to go on a Heartstart course

Head to our map and choose Heartstart training from the drop down menu to find your local scheme.

2. I want to teach Heartstart to others

Heartstart instructors are linked to a Heartstart scheme. Contact your local scheme to register your interest in becoming a Heartstart instructor.

3. I want to set up Heartstart in my area or school
